Festivus Networking Event – Central London, 5th March

Billed as “suitable for the discerning alcoholic animator”, this irregular networking evening will take place at the usual venue: First floor, The Comedy (The pub not the club!), 7 Oxendon Street, London SW1Y 4EE

Festivus started out as an animator led meetup, and over the last seventeen get-togethers has evolved into an animation employment website. People expect you to hand them your business card, so sharpen your crayons and get to work!

James Baxter shares his experiences about the rocky road to success in the world of animation in Britain, and later in the U.S.A. He talks with great frankness about his progress in the industry. He started out by studying animation at West Surrey College (Farnham), and it’s soothing to hear his English accent still (almost) intact as he tells his tale.

You might remember his eye popping animation in the recent animation / live action film Enchanted.
The podcast is around 40 minutes, so maybe save it for one of your rendering breaks….LINK
