THE GOM DVD PLAYER

gom01sm.jpg

This excellent and FREE DVD player will not only play many video formats, but its built-in Screen capture feature allows you to take a screenshot of your video directly from GOM Player, and the Burst Capture feature lets you take continuous screenshots up to 999 shots.

You can’t fault it for value. Here’s the GOM home page, and the Softpedia download link.

THE UNOFFICIAL DREAMWORKS ANIMATION website
The Unofficial Dreamworks Animation Archive site gathers together a wide selection of images from every film that Dreamworks has made, and even includes images from films that Dreamworks has NOT made.
There are some very good sections dealing with concept art, which might be of interest.

ADVICE TO ANIMATION STUDENTS

Mark Kennedy gives some timely and appropriate advice to all students preparing to make their final year films
QUOTE: “The most important part of the decision is to pick something that will sustain your interest and passion long enough for you to finish the damn thing.

That means that you shouldn’t do what you think others will think is cool, or funny, or clever, or intellectual, you ought to do what you actually find interesting, engaging and inspiring enough to work on 24 hours a day for eight months or so.”
